Scout has an update with rising 2019 safety Demani Richardson, who has already collected his first to Power Five conference offers…
Demani Richardson, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound safety from Waxahachie (Texas) is a prospect who has already collected his first two Power Five conference offers.
“I have two offers in,” Richardson aid who holds offers from the Georgia Bulldogs and the Baylor Bears.
“Georgia offered first. I would play in the SEC. It meant a lot for them to offer me and be my first offer, and have the faith in me to offer. My basketball coach coached him and he gave me his number and it just went from there.”
“And Baylor offered next. I like Baylor. I am looking towards them, and they are close to home.”
So what is Richardson bringing to the table and why are these colleges targeting him already with to years of high school ball remaining?
“I am really physical,” Richardson said. “I am athletic and fast and I have ball skills. I can cover and I can play down as a linebacker. I look up to and pattern my game after Ed Reed and Karl Joseph.”
Richardson reports that he is also hearing from schools like “Texas, LSU, TCU, and Florida State”. He has been talking a lot to the coaches down in Austin, Texas as he formulates a bond with the UT staff.
“Me and the coaches talked and they showed me around the school and stuff like that,” Richardson explained. “They want me to keep in contact with them and build a relationship.”
