Before concluding his visit to North Carolina on Wednesday, Bryson Richardson verbally committed to the Heels.
For national football power Buford (Ga.) High, Richardson, a 6-foot, 184-pounder, starts at free safety. But, he’s being recruited as a “hybrid” defensive back by UNC DB coach Terry Joseph. Joseph offered Richardson about a month ago.
Richardson collected offers from roughly two dozen other schools. That pile features Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi State, NC State, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
From October to January, Richardson was a member of Tennessee’s commitment list.
Richardson is UNC’s fifth verbal commitment of the 2018 class. He joins a group that already included Dyami Brown, Chris Collins, Avery Jones, and Payton Wilson.
